Getting Started with Eigma

Welcome to Eigma

In the age of large language models, answers are cheap. You can ask your chatbot (ChatGPT, Claude, or any other) almost anything and get a fluent reply in seconds. But an answer you read once rarely becomes yours: it scrolls past, and next week you could not explain it. Eigma exists to close that gap. It keeps what is worth mastering and helps you make it stick, so what your chatbot teaches you ends up in your head, not just on your screen.

What Eigma is for

Eigma turns the conversations you already have into a personal wiki, plus short quizzes to help it sink in. Everything you bring in goes to the right place on its own: something new gets its own page in the chapter it belongs to, and something you have met before is added to the page that already covers it. Pages link to each other as you read, so your wiki keeps growing into your own framework of knowledge, next to your chatbot rather than inside it.

Where to find Eigma

Address What it is
eigma.app The website: what Eigma is, how to connect your chatbot, and the Android app
my.eigma.app The Eigma app in your browser: your wiki, its quizzes, the globe of what you know, and how you are progressing

The Android app (beta) is on eigma.app/connect. Sign in with the same account everywhere and your wiki follows you.

Your chatbot and the app split the work. In the chat you learn, and say save this to Eigma. In the app you accept what arrived, read your pages, answer their quizzes, watch the globe light up, and follow how much has actually stuck.

The measure is not how much you have stored. It is how much you have actually internalized.

What is in this guide

Chapter What it covers
The learning loop The five steps that turn a chat into knowledge you keep
Getting a conversation into Eigma Connect your chatbot, or copy and paste, then review what it wrote
Your wiki, organized and easy to navigate Pages, chapters, self-forming links, volumes
Making pages and chapters your own Editing, annotating, restructuring, and changes your chatbot suggests
Recall colours and review What the colours mean, and how review adapts to you

These are ordinary wiki pages, so reading and quizzing them works just as it does for the knowledge you add yourself.

Common questions

Do I need an account? No. Your wiki lives on this device, and everything in this guide works offline without signing in. Signing in is free and worth doing anyway: it is what lets you connect ChatGPT or Claude to Eigma, so a conversation reaches your wiki with nothing to copy, and it backs your knowledge up to the cloud and keeps it in step across your devices.

Where do I see what my chatbot saved? In the Eigma app: my.eigma.app in any browser, or the Android app. Sign in with the account you connected. New pages wait under Ingest → Messages until you accept them; after that they are in your wiki, on the globe and in your quizzes.

Is this just another second brain? A second brain is a place to put things, and it stays useful only as long as you keep tidying it. Eigma files and maintains itself as you add to it, and then does the part storage cannot: it quizzes you, notices what is fading, and brings it back before you lose it. The goal is not knowledge you can find again but knowledge you actually hold.

Quizze
  1. Eigma measures success by how much you have stored, not how much you have internalized.

    • True
    • False

The measure is how much you have actually internalized, not how much is stored.

  2. What does this chapter say Eigma is for?

    • Replacing your chatbot for everyday questions
    • Keeping and internalizing what is worth mastering
    • Managing your reminders and to-do lists
    • Archiving every conversation you ever have

Eigma helps you keep and truly internalize what your chatbot teaches you, alongside your own chatbot.

  3. Your chatbot saved a few pages to Eigma. Where do you read them and answer their quizzes?

    • In the Eigma app at my.eigma.app
    • Inside the same chat, by scrolling up
    • In a weekly email from Eigma
    • On the eigma.app blog

The chatbot saves; the app at my.eigma.app, or the Android app, is where you accept, read, answer quizzes and track what has stuck.
