Who you are agreeing with
Eigma is built and operated by Ya Wang, an independent developer in Germany. These terms cover the website at eigma.app and the app at my.eigma.app. Using either means you accept them. If you do not, please do not use Eigma. You can reach us at support@eigma.app.
Early access
Eigma is in active development and is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. Features may change, move or be withdrawn, and the service may be unavailable at times without notice. We will tell you here before making a change that takes something away from you, whenever it is in our power to do so.
Your account
You can use Eigma without an account. An account is what adds the cloud backup, syncing between your devices, and the community. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; anything done through your account is treated as done by you. You need to be at least 16 years old to have one. Accounts used for abuse may be suspended or closed.
Your content stays yours
Everything you put into Eigma remains yours and you keep every right you had in it. To run the service we need your permission to store your content and show it back to you, on the devices you use it on and in the backup you asked for, and we use it for nothing else. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not train any model on it. You can export all of it at any time, and deleting your account removes our copy.
Publishing to the community
Publishing a volume puts a public, read-only copy of its pages and quizzes on eigma.app, where anyone can read it. By publishing you confirm that you have the right to share what is in it, and you give us permission to host and display that copy for as long as it stays published. You can unpublish it at any time. We may take down published content that breaks these terms or the law, and if we do, you are told why and can appeal.
What you put in, and what you publish
You are responsible for the content you bring into Eigma and for anything you publish. Do not publish material you have no right to share, private information about other people, or anything unlawful. Ratings, reviews and comments are subject to the same rule, and may be removed if they break it.
Connected assistants
Connecting an assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude is your choice, and that assistant is operated by another company under its own terms and privacy policy, not ours. What it drafts is its output. Nothing it sends enters your wiki until you accept it in Eigma's review inbox, and you can withdraw its access at any time in Settings.
Pages can be wrong
The pages in your wiki come from a conversation with an assistant, and assistants make mistakes. Treat what you read as material to check, not as fact, and never as professional advice. For anything medical, legal or financial, ask someone qualified.
Using the service fairly
Do not attack, overload or attempt to disrupt Eigma, work around its limits, take its content at scale by automated means, or resell access to it. Do not use it to store or distribute malware. We may limit or close an account that does.
Keeping your own copy
Your wiki lives in your browser, and clearing your browser's site data deletes that copy. A cloud backup exists only if you are signed in, and there is one current copy of it rather than a history. Export a backup file if your wiki matters to you. We are not able to recover data that is gone.
Paid plans
Everything Eigma offers today is free and there is nothing to buy. Paid plans may come later. If they do, what they cost and what they include will be clear before you pay anything, and paying will always be a choice you make rather than something that happens to an existing account.
Ending it
You can stop using Eigma whenever you like, and you can delete your account and everything stored with it from Settings, under Account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will say why unless we are legally prevented from doing so. Export your data first if you want to keep it.
What we are liable for
As far as the law allows, Eigma is provided as it is, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, which in Germany includes intent and gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, and liability under the Product Liability Act.
Changes to these terms
These terms will change as Eigma grows. The date at the top says when they last did. If a change materially affects you and you have an account, we will tell you before it takes effect.
