Getting Started with Eigma
Recall colours and review
Every page shows a recall colour for how well you actually know it, not how often you have opened it. The colour is an honest signal of what has truly stuck.
What the colours mean
| Colour | What it means |
|---|---|
| Grey | Captured, not read yet |
| Silver | Read |
| Gold | Read, and its quizzes answered right |
Within a colour, brighter means stronger. Left alone, a colour dims over time (dark gold means you knew this once and it is time to refresh), but it never resets to the start. Reading takes a page to silver; answering its quizzes correctly is what carries it to gold. That is the point of the quizzes: they turn reading into something you can actually recall.
Questions on every page
Each page comes with a few short questions, written when the conversation was captured. You answer by choosing an option, never by typing. You can edit or delete any question, write your own, or press Generate to have your own chatbot write more for that page.
The Internalize tab
The Internalize tab brings up the pages that are due, on a schedule that adapts to you: answer well and the next review moves further out, answer wrong and it comes back sooner. The same tab shows how familiar you are chapter by chapter, weakest first. On Home, the memory assistant sorts today into three small piles, pages to read, pages ready to recall, and pages that are starting to fade, and its memory report tells you how you are really doing.
Common questions
Why is my page still silver? You have read it but not answered its questions correctly yet. Reading gets you to silver, gold takes recall. These onboarding pages are ordinary wiki pages, so you can watch them turn gold as you go.
Where does my wiki actually live? On this device, free and without limits. That also means clearing your browser data would take it with it, so export a backup file from Settings now and then, or sign in and let Eigma back it up for you.
