Getting started

Eigma turns the conversations you already have with ChatGPT or Claude into a wiki you own, and brings each page back before you forget it. Here is the five minutes it takes to set up.

Step 1: Open Eigma

Go to my.eigma.app. It runs in your browser and your wiki lives on your device, so you can look around straight away, without an account.

Step 2: Sign in

Open Settings. Account is the first thing on the page: tap it, and sign in with Google, GitHub, or an email and password.

Without an account your wiki stays in this one browser, and clearing site data takes it with it. Signing in backs it up and syncs it across your devices. Do it before the next step: connecting an assistant asks you to sign in partway through, and your pages go to whichever account answers that prompt.

Step 3: Connect your assistant

One minute, once per assistant. Which address you need depends on which assistant.

ChatGPT uses its own address:

https://my.eigma.app/api/mcp-chatgpt
  1. Open Settings, then Plugins.
  2. Turn on Developer mode. Until you do there is no way to add a plugin of your own, which is where most people get stuck.
  3. Browse plugins, then + to add one.
  4. Name it Eigma and paste the address into the server URL field.
  5. ChatGPT sends you to sign in with the Eigma account you just made. Approve the connection.

Claude uses:

https://my.eigma.app/api/mcp-claude

In Claude: CustomizeConnectors+Add custom connector, paste the address, Add, then sign in when it asks. Then open a chat, click the + at the bottom left, choose Connectors, and switch Eigma on. That last switch is the step people miss: Claude only uses the connectors you turned on for that particular conversation, so if Eigma looks connected but nothing happens, that is almost always why.

Claude Code and Codex use:

https://my.eigma.app/api/mcp

In each, two commands:

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user eigma https://my.eigma.app/api/mcp
claude mcp login eigma
codex mcp add eigma --url https://my.eigma.app/api/mcp
codex mcp login eigma

The second one opens a browser window to sign in and approve.

If the menus do not match, the full setup guide has screenshots and troubleshooting.

Step 4: Send a conversation, then keep what you want

In any chat, say “organize this into Eigma”. Your assistant turns the conversation into pages, each filed under the right chapter with a few questions attached.

They wait in Eigma’s Ingest mailbox, shown next to the page as it stands now. Nothing joins your wiki until you press Add to wiki, so a suggestion you do not want costs you nothing.

From there, reading a page turns it silver and answering its questions from memory turns it gold. The Internalize tab brings back whatever is starting to fade.

That is the loop. You are set up.

Where else to look

  • Connect your assistant is the setup guide, with screenshots and a longer troubleshooting list
  • FAQ answers what it costs, where your data lives, and what you can take with you
  • Community is where people publish whole volumes from their own Eigma
